This is a recipe passed down from my grandmother. I'm sure there are others like it, but they never taste the same as hers Ingredients:

8-12 apples peeled |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
1 cup water |
1 tsp cinnamon |
crust |
1 cup self rising flour |
1/4 cup crisco |
1/2 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Filling: 2. Cut core out of apples 3. Put in pan and add water 4. Boil for about 20 minutes or until water is gone 5. Add sugar 6. Mash apples 7. Add cinnamon and stir 8. Let cool 9. Crust 10. Mix flour, crisco and milk; let chill 11. Roll out thin 12. Cut in saucer shapes 13. Add filling and fold over 14. Press sides together with fork 15. Punch holes in top 16. Fry on medium until brown 17. Let cool and serve |
