Ingredients:
6 slices bacon, diced |
2 cups shelled fresh black-eyed peas (about 1 pound) |
2 cups shelled fresh lima beans (about 1 pound) |
3 cups water |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
2 1/2 cups fresh whole okra |
Directions:
1. Cook diced bacon in a large Dutch oven until crisp. Add black-eyed peas, lima beans, water, salt, and pepper; stir well. Cover and cook over medium heat 30 minutes. Add whole okra, and cook an additional 30 minutes or until okra is tender. |
