This fresh strawberry cake is very good. A lady at work used to make it for my birthday!!!! Everyone always loved it... Im not much on strawberry cake but this is good... Its also a pretty cake.... Ingredients:
1 box of white cake mix |
1 small pkg of strawberry jello |
3 tablespoons of flour |
3/4 cup oil |
1/2 cup water |
4 egg yolks |
1 10 oz frozen strawberries, thawed and chopped, using only half of the bag (you can use fresh strawberries chopped ) |
icing |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar |
1/2 of a 10oz pkg strawberries, thawed and chopped |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Slowly mix dry ingredients with water and oil 2. Beat at medium speed for 3 to 4 minutes 3. Add egg yolks one at a time 4. Add half of the bag of strawberries (you can use fresh strawberries chopped) 5. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites 6. Bake in 3 greased and floured 9 inch cake pans for 35 to 40 minutes at 325 degrees 7. Icing: 8. Mix and beat ingredients together until smoooth 9. Ice cooled cake between each layer and on top |
