This recipe is from Cooking Light and was one of their Best of the Best. Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups water |
1 cup sugar |
2 pieces orange rind, 2 strips |
2 2/3 cups fresh orange juice |
1/3 cup lemon juice |
grated orange rind (optional garnish) |
mint sprig (optional garnish) |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan bring water, rind strips and sugar to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. 2. Strain mixture and cool completely. 3. Add orange and lemon juices to sugar mixture. Follow ice cream maker manufacturer's instructions. |
