A flavourful dessert - asian inspired. You can mix and match the fruit depending on availibility. Ingredients:
2 liters water |
1 kg sugar |
3 whole star anise |
2 cinnamon sticks |
2 stalks lemongrass, hearts only cut in half |
1 star fruit |
3 tamarillos |
4 kiwi fruits |
3 oranges |
3 grapefruits |
4 ripe guavas |
2 peaches |
Directions:
1. In saucepan bring waterm sugar, star anise, cinamon and lemon grass to boil. Simmer for 20 minutes, strain and set aside. 2. Slice and peel fruit accordingly. 3. Place in serving bowl. 4. Pour warm syrup over the fruit. 5. Cover and set aside to cool. 6. Refrigerate until needed. |
