5 to 6 cups chopped fresh fruit (apples, rhubarb, blueberries or peaches) |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1/2 cup sugar |
4 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup butter or margarine |
1 cup milk |

2/3 cup sugar |
1/4 cup cornstarch |
1-1/2 cups boiling water |
Directions:
1. Arrange fruit evenly in the bottom of a 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. greased baking pan. 2. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt; cupt in butter until crumbly. 3. Stir in milk. 4. Spoon over fruit. 5. Combine sugar and cornstarch; sprikle over batter. 6. Pour water over all. 7. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until fruit is tender. 8. Yield: 12-16 servings. |
