Chayote or ( vegetable pear ) is wonderful raw . Combined with the white and purple topped turnip plus carrot create a very delcious and healthy salad both in flavor and texture. Hope you like my recipe. The carrot also adds a hint of color in this mostly white looking salad! Read more ! So serving on a lettuce lined plate would also be nice! Ingredients:
1 large chayote, peeled and seeded |
1 medium white and purple top turnip, peeled |
1 sweet carrot, peeled |
mayonaisee to bind |
olive oil |
salt and pepper |
dash of sugar or honey to taste ( may be splenda ) |
Directions:
1. Shred the chayote, and turnip. 2. Drain if needed to get rid of any excess liquid 3. Add the shredded carrot 4. Toss to combine 5. Add about 2 tbs olive oil and mix well. 6. Stir in enough mayonnise to moisten 7. Season with salt and pepper 8. Serve as is or well chilled |
