FRESH APPLE NUT POUND CAKE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Almond Estate in Grand Prairie Texas in 1992. Ingredients:
3 cups all purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
1-1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 large eggs |
2 cups granulated sugar |
2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1-1/4 cups vegetable oil |
3 cups fresh diced apples |
1 cup pecan pieces |
Directions:
1. Sift flour, nutmeg, baking soda, cinnamon and salt together then set aside. 2. Beat eggs, sugar, vanilla and oil together then gradually add flour mixture. 3. Fold in apples and pecans then bake in tube pan for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350. |
