This was my grandmother's recipe. A good cake to make when you are out of eggs. Very moist, does not need frosting. Excellent served warm with vanilla ice cream. Ingredients:
4 cups apples; peeled and grated |
1/2 cup oil |
2 cups sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 cups unsifted flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
1 cup walnuts; chopped |
Directions:
1. Mix together apples, oil, sugar and vanilla. 2. Sift dry ingredients together and add to apples. 3. Fold in nuts. 4. Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 350ยบ for 1 hour or until done. |
