This is another recipe clipping that Mom collected. I am sure there is one here on Zaar, but I just want to put it here for safe keeping. These are all cut out of magazines and I have no idea which magazine or paper they came from. Some are even newspaper clippings. This was submitted by Mrs E R Clack of Merkel Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
2 cups sugar |
4 eggs |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 teaspoon clove |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
1/2 cup water |
2 cups apples, raw, chopped |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar together. 2. Add eggs-one at a time-beating well after each. 3. Sift spices and flour together. 4. Add alternately to creamed mixture with water. 5. Fold in fresh apples into the batter. 6. Pour into a greased and floured pan. 7. Bake at 350* for 45 minute. |
