A perfect recipe for the upcoming season!! Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
8 tablespoons butter, softened |
1 1/4 cups sugar |
2 eggs |
1 1/2 cups finely grated peeled apples |
1/2 cup chopped pecans or 1/2 cup walnuts |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9-inch loaf pan. 2. Mix the dry ingredients together and set aside. 3. Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl until fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in the dry ingredients, then add the apple and pecans. 4. Bake for 1 hour or until a wooden toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. 5. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out on a rack. 6. Cool before slicing. |
