Great for the kids, and adults alike. Very tasty and easy to make. You can refrigerate left overs for the next day. A great way to get rid of that bread that is starting to get a little stale or I like it with fresh home made bread also. Ingredients:
dash vanilla extract |
3 eggs |
2/3 cup milk |
3 tbsp. granulated sugar |
1/4 tsp. salt |
day old white bread cut into 3/4 to 1 strips |
1 cup cooking oil |
Directions:
1. Heat cooking oil in 9 in round skillet until oil is hot. 2. In a bowl mix eggs' milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt. 3. Dip bread strips into mixture, and shake off excess. 4. Carefully place in skillet in single layer. 5. Fry about 1 min. each side until golden brown. 6. Lay on paper towels to remove oil. 7. You can also top with powdered sugar and/or cinnamon, and your favorite syrup. 8. Can also be made in the deep fryer. 375 degrees. |
