French Toast Crostini W/Honey Creme Fraiche |

I haven't tried it yet but it looked and sounds delicioso. Ingredients:
2 eggs |
1/4 cup heavy cream or 1/4 cup whole milk |
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract |
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
2 -3 tablespoons butter |
1/2 french baguette, sliced diagonally, 1/4-inch thick |
1/4 cup lavender honey |
1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted |
1 cup creme fraiche |
1/4 cup fresh cream, whipped |
1/4 cup lavender honey |
1 pinch kosher salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, vanilla, salt and cinnamon. 3. In a large skillet on medium heat, melt half of the butter. 4. Dip (do not soak) each side of the bread in the egg mixture and gently shake off excess. In batches over medium-high heat, adding more butter as needed, cook bread until golden brown on both sides. 5. Remove and keep warm in the oven. 6. To serve, top each slice with a dollop of Honey Crème Fraîche, a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of almonds. 7. Honey Crème Fraîche: In a medium bowl, whisk all together. |
