Ingredients:
1 cup milk
4 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons butter
8 slices bread
additional butter
maple syrup
Directions:
1. Combine milk, eggs, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl, beating well.
2. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet; dip 2 bread slices, one at a time, into egg mixture, coating well. Drain; arrange in skillet, and cook over medium heat 4 minutes on each side or until lightly browned. Remove to a serving platter; keep warm. Repeat with remaining bread slices, adding butter to skillet as needed. Serve warm with syrup.
