A delicious recipe passed down from Mum! Great to make for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Ingredients:
2 eggs |
1 cup milk |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
40 g butter (for pan) |
4 slices bread (thick) |
Directions:
1. Break eggs into a wide shallow dish and add the milk and vanilla extract. 2. Beat mixture with a fork. 3. Dip the bread into the egg mixture; let the excess run off; place in a buttered pan. 4. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes. 5. When it is golden underneath, turn the bread over and cook other side. 6. Transfer the french toast to a plate. 7. When done, serve with ground cinnamon or sugar. |
