This is a sweet, filling french toast. Not your basic egg washed plain stuff. An awesomely sweet, moist way to start your day. Ingredients:
1 cup half-and-half |
3 large eggs |
2 tablespoons honey, warmed 20 seconds in microwave |
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 pinch nutmeg |
4 slices bread |
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl whisk half and half, eggs, honey, salt, french vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. 2. Lay bread into the mixture and let it sit for about 5 minutes, if not fully covered flip it and let it sit another 5 minutes. 3. Melt a little butter in a pan and cook each slice until golden crispy on each side. 4. Serve with your favorite toppings. (I perfer a light sprinkling of powdered sugar and some high grade maple syrup.). |
