FRENCH SILK PIE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Greer Estate in Arlington Texas in 1987. Ingredients:
1 cup butter softened |
1-1/2 cups granulated sugar |
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate melted and cooled. |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
4 eggs |
1 graham cracker pie shell |
1 cup whipping cream whipped |
shaved chocolate for garnish |
Directions:
1. Place butter in large mixing bowl then gradually add sugar and beat until creamy. 2. Stir in chocolate and vanilla then add two eggs and beat 5 minutes. 3. Add next two eggs and beat an additional 5 minutes then pour mixture into prepared pie shell. 4. Chill 2 hours then top with whipped cream around outside edge of pie. 5. Sprinkle with shaved chocolate and refrigerate. |
