This is a fresh flavoured dessert. I have used an old classical french reciepe that I have improved. 'Pain perdu' (old bread) was first a reciepe to avoid to waste dry bread, however I recomend you fresh bread for a better taste. Read more . Minth match very well with hot peach. Ingredients:
4 slices of bread ('brioche' sweet bread please) |
4 eggs |
4 (or more) big spoons of powder sugar |
6 big spoons of milk per slice of bread |
one little spoon of vanilla flavour |
two or three peachs |
8 fresh minth leaves |
some vanilla ice cream |
some butter |
Directions:
1. Blend together: the yellow from the eggs, sugar, Valilla flavour 2. Add milk (I don't realy know how much milk you will need, but the idea is that you will put the bread in the mix to sponge all , so add some more milk if 6 per slice isnot enough) 3. Taste it, if there is not enough sugar to match your taste, add some more. 4. Put three nuts of butter in a pan-fry and turn fire on (low) 5. Dip and soak a slice of bread in the mix made previously and fry it in the butter (do that for each slice) 6. Cut the peach in slices 7. put a nut of butter in the pan fry 8. fry the slices of peach until they start to have a 'marmalade effect' (the aim is not to have marmalade, but to see that the peach is becoming softer) 9. In a plate put one slice of bread you have prepared previously 10. Add some peach on it 11. Take 4 leaves of fresh minth, roll them and with a knife cut them in small pieces that you will throw on the peach slices 12. take an other slice of bread to cover the peachs 13. One ball of vanilla ice cream in each plate 14. Enjoy ! I prefer it hot so you can wait before to put the ice cream and warm it a few minuts in the hoven, then add the ice cream. 15. Sorry for my english. I hope that you will understand all.. |
