This is one of my Mom's recipes, passed down to me... It's easy to make, and it's tried and true! Ingredients:
1 (10 1/2-ounce) can french onion soup |
1/2 cup butter, melted |
1 (4 1/2-ounce) jar sliced mushrooms, undrained |
1 (8-ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, undrained |
1 cup uncooked regular rice |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350-degrees. 2. Combine soup and butter; stir well. 3. Drain mushrooms and water chestnuts, reserving liquid. 4. Add enough water to reserved liquid to equal 1 1/3 cups. 5. Add mushrooms, water chestnuts, liquid, and rice to soup-butter mixture; stir well. 6. Pour into a lightly greased 10- x 6- x 2-inch baking dish. 7. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour. |
