My aunt used to make these for us and I didn't know the name of them until now. These are sinfully delicious, but look very weird. Ingredients:
1 cup flour |
1/2 cup corn syrup |
1 cup finely chopped pecans or 1 cup almonds |
1/2 cup shortening |
2/3 cup brown sugar |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375. 2. Sift flour and Blend with nuts. 3. Bring corn syrup, shortening, and sugar to boil in saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. 4. Remove from heat; gradually stir in flour and nuts. 5. Drop batter by level teaspoonfuls about 3 inches apart on baking sheet covered with wax paper (Bake only 8-9 at a time). 6. Bake 5-6 min; allow to stand 5 minutes before removing. |
