Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup cold water |
1 egg, lightly beaten |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
2 pounds medium shrimp, peeled and deveined |

Directions:
1. Combine flour, sugar, salt, water, egg, and 2 tablespoons oil in a large mixing bowl. Stir briskly until smooth. Dip shrimp in batter. 2. Fry shrimp, a few at a time, in deep hot oil (375°) until shrimp float to the top and are light brown. Drain on paper towels. 3. Remove to a warm serving platter, and serve immediately with cocktail sauce. |
