French Cake & Sauce ( Passed Down by Generations) |

It goes a long way and tastes so good. This one was passed down from my husband's grandmother. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
1 1/2 cups flour |
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 pinch salt |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
3/4 cup milk |
2 cups brown sugar |
2 cups boiling water |
1/4 cup butter |
1 teaspoon flour |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Mix cake ingredients together in order; after adding each one, mix. 2. In different bowl mix sauce ingredients together in order; after each one, mix. 3. Pour cake mixture in GLASS 11x14-inch cake pan then sauce over top from side to side through the cake till all the sauce is used. 4. Bake at 350°F degrees for 30-35 minutes. 5. It looks like a lot of work but it's not and the end results is well worth it. 6. ENJOY. |
