This is a recipe we have had for 30 years. A favorite breakfast treat for our kids. I think we got the original recipe from my aunt. Bet you can't eat just one. Ingredients:
1/3 cup shortening |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/2 cup milk |
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup sugar |
2 tablespoons cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and sugar. 2. Add egg and mix well. 3. Sift dry ingredients together. 4. Add alternately with milk. 5. Grease 12 muffin pan. 6. Drop batter into pan w/spoon. 7. Bake on 350 degrees 12- 15 minutes or golden brown on top. 8. Melt butter. 9. Mix sugar and cinnamon. 10. Roll hot muffins in butter then sugar&cinnamon. 11. Serve warm. |
