I don't remember where I got this recipe. But I get requests for it all the time. You ought to see their faces when I say I bake it in a paper sack. It is one of my DH and DD favorite apple dessert. Ingredients:
3 -5 lbs of sack on apples depending of the size apples |
4 tablespoons flour |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 pie crust, unbaked |
1/2 cup flour |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. 2. Core, peel and quarter apples. 3. Prepare crust and put in 9 pie baking plate. 4. Mix 4 Tablespoons flour, l/2 cup sugar and l/2 teaspoon cinnamon together. 5. Pour over apples and mix well. 6. Spoon into prepared pie crust. 7. Mix topping ingredients together with pastry cutter. 8. Spoon on top of apples. 9. Put paper sack (grocery size) on to cookie sheet. Place pie in paper sack and fold close and secure - I use paper clips. 10. Bake for one hour. |
