This is an amazing egg dish for breakfast or brunch. It is loaded with cheesy flavors and always a hit when I serve it. Enjoy Ingredients:
1 medium white onion sliced |
3 tablespoons olive oil |
2 cups sliced mushrooms |
1 teaspoon dried marjoram |
1 teaspoon minced garlic |
6 slices bread |
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese |
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese |
6 eggs lightly beaten |
1-1/2 cups milk |
2 teaspoons dijon mustard |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
4 slices swiss cheese |
Directions:
1. Spray a square baking pan with nonstick cooking spray then set aside. 2. In frying pan over medium heat sauté onion in olive oil for 10 minutes. 3. Add mushrooms and marjoram then sauté until mushrooms are tender about 5 minutes more. 4. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant about 1 minute longer. 5. Cut bread into 1” cubes then arrange half of the cubes over bottom of baking pan. 6. Top with onion and mushroom mixture. 7. Combine cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses then sprinkle over mushroom mixture. 8. Top with remaining bread cubes. 9. Blend eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper then pour over bread and top with cheese slices. 10. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. 11. Uncover and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour. |
