Simple meatballs with a slightly sweet sauce. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1/3 cup dry breadcrumbs |
1 egg |
1 tablespoon vegetable oil |
2 beef bouillon cubes |
2/3 cup water |
1 tablespoon reduced sodium soy sauce |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 dash lemon juice |
Directions:
1. Mix the ground beef, bread crumbs and egg together in a bowl. 2. Shape meatballs using your hands. Lay them out on waxed paper until all are done. 3. Heat the oil in a fry pan and brown the meatballs, a few at a time, until all are done. 4. Drain on paper towels. 5. Mix all the sauce ingredients together in a saucepan. 6. Cook on top of the stove on low heat for 20 minutes. 7. Add the meatballs and cook for another 20 minutes. 8. Serve on toothpicks for a snack, or over rice or noodles for dinner. |
