An old-old standard for cake frosting you can make with what is on hand. This is the way icing was made years ago and is still very handy to have around if you find you don't have any frosting for that cake you want to make Ingredients:
5 tablespoons flour |
1 cup milk |
1/2 cup margarine |
1/2 cup crisco |
1 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Mix flour into milk in saucepan and bring to a boil stirring constantly. 2. Cool mixture completely. 3. Combine remaining ingredients and beat until light and fluffy. 4. Add first mixture and whip well with electic mixer. 5. Makes plenty of frosting for a two layer cake. |
