If you're slicing your own loaf of challah and want larger pieces, I recommend slicing the loaf at a 45 degree angle. Because challah bread tends to be short and stout, slicing at an angle will give you nice and tall pieces. Ingredients:
1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1 cup milk |
3 eggs |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
2 tablespoon white sugar |
1 loaf sliced challah bread |
Directions:
1. 1. Whisk eggs and milk into a small casserole dish with fork. Slowly whisk in the cinnamon, vanilla extract, sugar and flour until smooth. 2. 2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat. 3. 3. Soak bread slices in mixture until saturated. Cook bread on each side until golden brown. Serve hot with toppings of your choice. |
