This recipe came from a friend of mine who would have tortilla making parties . In order to eat her yummy food, you had to make your own tortillas. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 tablespoon shortening |
1/2-3/4 cup warm water |
Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients well. 2. Add shortening and mix until it resembles cornmeal. 3. Add warm water and mix until dough can be gathered into a ball. 4. Divide into 12 balls. 5. Flour surface lightly. 6. Roll out into thin rounds. 7. Cook in ungreased skillet until lightly brown. |
