Rich and delicious - my Grandma Flo's recipe for Shrimp Newburg. We serve it over baking powder biscuits or toast points. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups ripe olives |
3 lbs cooked shrimp |
1 cup butter |
3/4 cup cornstarch |
2 teaspoons salt |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
3 cups milk |
2 cups half-and-half cream |
1/2 cup sherry wine |
1 dash cayenne pepper |
2 teaspoons paprika |
Directions:
1. Rough chop olives. 2. Melt butter in dutch oven. Add shrimp, stir to gently coat with butter. 3. Add seasonings, milk, half & half, cornstarch stirring constantly until thick and smooth. 4. Add olives and sherry, stir and serve immediately. 5. Serve over biscuits or toast points. |
