Favorite football finger food with a citrus twist. The orange juice adds a nuance that other cheese crackers don't have. *Always been called a Florida Gator, even though there is no gator in them* Go figure.
Ingredients:
1 jar. (1 lb.) processed cheese spread
1/2 cup of soft unsalted butter
3 tablespoons of orange juice concentrate, thawed, undiluted
1 tablespoon of grated orange rind
2 dashes of worchestershire sauce
2 dashes of tabasco sauce
1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon of salt
2 cups of sifted a.p. flour
3/4 cup of finely chopped pecans
Directions:
1. Cream together cheese and butter.
2. Add orange juice concentrate, rind, Worchestershire sauce, and Tabasco. Sift together flour, cayenne and salt.
3. Add to cheese mixture.
4. Mix well.
5. Stir in pecans.
6. Chill until very firm. (can be frozen)
7. To Bake: drop by teaspoons on baking sheet.
8. Press flat with fork or with floured bottom of a drinking glass.
9. Bake at 400 degrees, 7 to 8 minutes
10. Prep time includes chill time/bake time per single sheet of cookies
