This is a delicious crock pot recipe that I found on this site, but adapted it to my own tastes. It smells great while it is cooking! After cooking it for 3 hours, I took out the chicken and placed it in a serving dish, then took the sauce and added cornstarch to make it thicker. The sauce was then used to pour over the chicken or the rice. Some other ideas I have, which I would like to try sometime, would be to cut up the chicken into strips and then add stir-fry veggies to the chicken and sauce. This would be like a stir-fry! (one that would take a while though) Who knows, maybe we will try it sometime! Ingredients:
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, large (i cut them each in half) |
1 cup brown sugar |
2/3 cup vinegar |
1/4 cup sprite (or any lemon-lime pop) |
3 -4 garlic cloves, minced |
2 tablespoons soy sauce |
1 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Place chicken in crock pot. 2. Mix all remaining ingredients and pour over chicken. 3. Cook on high for 3 hours (up to 3 1/2 hours). 4. Works great over cooked rice. 5. Enjoy! |
