Pie Crust Ingredients:
2 cups sifted flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
2/3 cup shortening |
5 -6 tablespoons cold water |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. Sift flour with salt; cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine meal. 3. Sprinkle with cold water a tablespoon at a time, mixing lightly with a fork until all the flour is moistened. 4. Form dough into a ball. 5. Divide in half. 6. On a lightly floured board, roll each ball to 1/8 inch thickness. 7. Fit pastry loosely into pie plates. 8. Prick bottom and sides with fork. 9. Trim and flute edges. 10. Bake 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown. |
