Simple and straight-forward, this looks like a tasty side dish. May sub the chicken broth with vegetable broth, to make vegetarian-friendly. Ingredients:
1 teaspoon sesame oil |
3/4 cup carrot, diced |
1/2 cup onion, diced |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans chicken broth |
1/2 teaspoon chinese five spice powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
1 1/4 cups long-grain rice, uncooked |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in pan and add onion, carrot, and garlic; sauté until tender. 2. Add broth, Chinese five-spice, salt and pepper, bring to a boil. 3. Stir in rice and return to boil. 4. Cover; reduce heat and cook 20 minutes. |
