This is a spicy fish and coconut dish of possible Portuguese and/or Indian origin . Traditionally , it's cooked in clay pot . Ingredients:
250 g shallots , 5 cloves garlic , 2 green chillies and 1 cm ginger - thinly sliced |
2 spriges curry leaves |
250 g tomatoes |
1 tbsp fish or seafood curry powder |
500 gm cod slices or spanish mackerel ( ikan tenggiri ) or large prawns |
250 ml low fat evaporated milk |
200 ml water |
pinch of salt |
Directions:
1. Saute all the sliced ing. until golden and aromatic . 2. Add the tomatoes and curry powder and continue to saute until the oil separates . 3. Add the fish slices / prawns , milk and the water . 4. Stir gently and mix well . 5. Cover and simmer until cooked |
