This is a Family recipe and we don't just have it on Christmas we also have it on thanksgiving other holidays or whenever we feel like it! Ingredients:
1 cup solid-pack pumpkin (you can use canned but fresh is better) |
1 cup apple butter |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (to taste) |
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
3 eggs, lightly beaten |
1 cup evaporated milk |
1 (9 inch) pie crusts (2 if you want a top on it) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees,. 2. Combine filling ingrediants (Pumpkin, Apple butter, eggs, evaporated milk) in order given. 3. pour into pie shell. 4. Bake 50-60 minutes or until knife inserted two inches from the center comes out clean. 5. combine streusel ingrediants (Brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, salt)top pie with streusel,. 6. bake for additional 15 minutes. 7. Serve warm! 8. Tip: very good with Vanilly ice cream or whipped cream. |
