From Madison Middle School. Ingredients:
6 large tomatoes, peeled and quartered |
1 large green pepper, cut into rings |
1 large red onion, cut into rings |
1/4 cup vinegar |
1 1/2 teaspoons celery seeds |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3 1/2 tablespoons sugar |
1/8 teaspoon red pepper |
1/8 teaspoon black pepper |
1/4 cup water |
1 large cucumber, peeled and sliced |
Directions:
1. Layer tomatoes, green pepper and onion in a salad bowl. Boil remaining ingredients except cucumber for 1 minute; pour hot over vegetables. cool; chill. Just before serving, add peeled, sliced cucumber. |
