One thing I really miss about my Filipino ex-boyfriend is the Filipino breakfast steaks him and his family would make. I wish I could call him for the recipe, but we haven't talked in months so I have been searching for the recipe online. I think I finally found it, although I'm not sure it's the same thing since I haven't made it yet. I am posting it here for safekeeping. Prep time and cook time are estimates. I know he used to fry the meat in a wok or frying pan so I'll try making it like that when I finally make it. Good luck if you choose to make it! I have no idea how it will turn out, because I could not find any ratings for the recipe. You may want to try halfing the recipe so if it turns out horrible you wouldn't have wasted as much meat. Ingredients:
2 lbs sirloin |
1 tablespoon garlic |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
1 1/2 tablespoons salt |
Directions:
1. Mix together the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Spread the mixture on the sirloin and place into refrigerator overnight. Bake or broil. Serve. |
