Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine, softened |
1 egg, separated |
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 cup finely chopped filberts |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 275. 2. Mix sugar,margarine and egg yolk. 3. Stir in flour and salt. 4. Spread in ungreased jelly roll pan,15 1/2x10 1/2x1. 5. Beat egg white slightly,brush over dough. 6. Sprinkle filberts over top,press lightly. 7. Bake until golden brown,about 1 hour. 8. Immediately cup into bars,2x1 inch,cool. |
