This is an old fashioned recipe that has been around for years. Fiberts are also known as hazelnuts . Ingredients:
1 cup shelled unblanched filberts |
1 beaten egg |
2 cups sifted powdered sugar |
3 tablespoons butter, softened |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 dash salt |
2 (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate squares, melted and cooled |
6 ounces mini marshmallows |
1 cup shredded coconut |
Directions:
1. Coarsely chop filberts; spread on baking sheet and toast at 350 until golden brown, about 10 minutes. 2. Cool. 3. Combine egg, sugar, butter, vanilla and salt. 4. Beat until very light and fluffy. 5. Blend in chocolate. 6. Combine marshmallows and filberts; fold in chocolate mixture. 7. Drop from teaspoon into bowl of coconut; roll evenly to coat. 8. Place on waxed paper. 9. Let stand until set. |
