Great for a romantic dessert or special occasion. The figs can be cooked 1 day in advance. Ingredients:
1 cup water |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/4 cup lemon juice |
2 cups pink champagne |
8 medium figs, quartered |
Directions:
1. Combine water, sugar and lemon juice in a saucepan. 2. Stir constantly over heat, without boiling, until sugar is dissolved. 3. Add figs and bring to a boil. 4. Reduce heat, simmer, uncovered, for 3 minutes or until tender. 5. remove from heat, cool. 6. Serve figs topped with 1/4 cup of syrup and top with champagne. |
