This recipe is from spain where they call it Higos con Miel and use port instead of ginger wine. This recipe is incredibly rich - most people will only need 2-3 figs per serve. Ingredients:
24 dried figs |
2 cups green ginger wine |
1 cup orange juice |
1/3 cup clear honey |
whipped cream, to serve |
Directions:
1. Place figs, ginger wine, orange juice and honey in a heavy base (not aluminium) saucepan and bring almost to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 45 minutes until syrupy. 2. Serve with whipped cream. |
