Clafouti is a French dessert that layers fruit and batter that after baking the texture is somwhere between a pudding and a cake. Ingredients:
1/2 pound small fresh figs ( about 18) |
cooking spray |
3/4 c, all-purpose flour |
1/3 c sugar |
1/4 tsp salt |
1/8 tsp ground cloves |
2 c 2% reduced fat milk |
1/2 tsp grated orange rind |
3 large eggs, lightly beaten |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 2. Place figs in a 10-inch deep-dish pie plate coated with cooking spray. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cup; level with a knife. Combine flour, sugar, salt, and cloves in a bowl. Gradually add half of milk, stirring with a whisk. Stir in remaining milk, rind, and eggs. Pour batter over figs. Bake at 375 for 1 hour or until set; cool. |
