You will never find a cheese ball as good as this on any deli shelf Ingredients:
2 8-ounce packages kraft philadelphia cream cheese. |
1 8-ounce package feta cheese, crumbled. |
1/2 cup butter. (1 stick) |
1 4 1/2 ounce can chopped ripe black olives |
4-6 tablespoons finely chopped scallion green onions |
(be sure to include several inches of the green stem) |
4 tablespoons finely chopped italian parsley |
4 ounces pecan pieces |
Directions:
1. Bring butter, feta, and cream cheese to room temperature 2. (I place the above in a bowl and microwave until butter is melted 1-2 min.) 3. Mix until combined. Stir in olives, onions and parsley. 4. (I like the flavor of Italian parsley best) 5. I have also used Kalamata, be carefull they can dominate the flavor 6. Cover and chill 12 to 24 hours. (This is important to get the best flavor) 7. To serve, shape into a ball. 8. Roll in pecan pieces. 9. Serve with party crackers |
