Festive Cocktail Meatballs |

Each year the policemen, and firefighters have a meatball contest to where they have a contest for the best tasting meatballs. One of the police officers whom I have known for a long time that I went to school with was nice enough to let me share his recipe. Enjoy ! Ingredients:
for the meatballs |
2 lbs ground beef |
1/3 cup ketchup |
3 teaspoons dry breadcrumbs |
1 egg, beaten |
2 teaspoons onion flakes |
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1 cup ketchup |
1 cup packed brown sugar |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
1/4 cup soy sauce |
1/4 cup cider vinegar |
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce |
Directions:
1. Combine all the meatball ingredients in a large bowl, and mix well. 2. Shape into 1 inch meatballs, and place on a jelly roll pan. 3. Bake at 18 minutes or until brown. 4. Combine the sauce ingredients, heat over stove until heated through, or slightly bubbling. 5. Let cool for 3-5 minutes, and pour over meatballs. |
