FESTIVE CARROTS This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Daly Estate in Harrell, Texas in 1988. Ingredients:
2 pounds carrots sliced 1/2 |
1 medium white onion sliced |
1 green pepper diced |
1 can tomato soup |
1 teaspoon dry mustard |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
1/2 cup white vinegar |
1/2 cup salad oil |
Directions:
1. Cook carrots until tender but firm then layer carrots, onions and pepper in deep bowl. 2. Put all other ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil then pour over vegetables. 3. Allow to stand in refrigerator overnight to meld flavors. |
