A spread thar is made during festivals for everyone to consume as an appetizer Ingredients:
1 cup water |
1 cup sugar |
12 oz. pkg. fresh or frozen cranberries |
1/2 cup apricot preserves |
2 tbs. lemon juice |
1/3 cup slivered almonds, toasted |
8 oz. cream cheese |
assorted crackers |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan over medium heat, bring water and sugar to a boil 2. without stirring; boil for 5 minutes. Add cranberries; cook until 3. berries pop and sauce is thickened, about 10 minutes. Remove from the 4. heat. Cut apricots in the preserves into small pieces; add to 5. cranberry mixture. Stir in lemon juice. Cool. Add almonds. Spoon 6. over cream cheese; serve with crackers. Store leftovers in the 7. refrigerator. Yield: about 3 cups. 8. Note: This sauce may also be served as an accompaniment to poultry or pork. 9. /group/boxofsandwiches |
