Fennel Braised With Garlic |

If you like fennel you will like this recipe. I got this from a small little quaint restaurant in Dallas, Texas. It was served one day over grilled pork chops and served with garlic mashed potatoes. I pleaded for the recipe and they actually gave it to me. Read more . Enjoy Ingredients:
12 small fennel bulbs |
6 tablespoons olive oil |
3 garlic cloves |
3/4 cup vegetable broth |
Directions:
1. Trim fennel stalks flush with bulbs and trim any discolorations from bulbs. 2. Cut bulbs lengthwise in half or into quarters then cut out most of the cores. 3. Leave enough to keep pieces intact and discard cores. 4. In a heavy skillet warm oil over moderate heat and cook garlic until pale golden. 5. Discard garlic and cook fennel stirring occasionally until golden brown about 10 minutes. 6. Add broth and salt to taste then simmer partially covered stirring occasionally for 20 minutes. 7. Allow to sit 5 minutes then serve immediately. |
