This is our family's all-time favorite pizza crust. We've found that it is enough dough for one of the following: 1-16 thin crust pizza, 1-14 thick crust pizza OR 2-12 thin crust pizzas. Ingredients:
2 packages powdered yeast |
2/3 cup plus 4 tablespoons warm water |
2 cups white flour |
1 cup white whole wheat flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup olive oil |
Directions:
1. To aid in rising of the pizza dough: Preheat oven at 400 degrees for 4 minutes. Shut oven off. 2. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Then mix all the ingredients together. Knead for 5-8 minutes. Put dough in slightly oiled bowl and cover. Let rise until doubled in bulk, approximately 1 hour. 3. Preheat oven to 375. Prebake crust in preferred pizza pan for 8-10 minutes, depending on size of pizza. Remove from oven. Cover pizza with your favorite toppings & bake 12-15 minutes, again, depending on pizza size. |
