This is a superb adaptation of a Nancy Silverton original. Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
1/4 cup dutch process cocoa |
2 cups sugar |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
4 large eggs |
1 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan, melt the butter and cocoa together, stirring to eliminate lumps. 2. In a bowl, mix sugar, salt and flour. 3. Add melted ingredients to flour mixture and stir. 4. Add eggs and vanilla. 5. Pour into 8x8 pan sprayed with cooking spray. 6. Bake at 350^ for 45 minutes or until center is no longer shiny and toothpick inserted comes out without batter appearance. |
